The Dome of Agrippa's Pantheon...

6:56 p.m.

04/24/23 - This circular building, known as Agrippa's Pantheon, is one of the best-preserved buildings of Ancient Rome, mainly due to its continued use throughout history: it was first a temple for the Gods (commissioned by Marco Agrippa) and then became a church.
What stands out is its coffered concrete dome with a central opening (oculus) towards the sky. The five rows of prismatic pieces decrease inward, ending in the opening that is 9 meters in diameter (although seen from below it looks smaller).
As the oculus is open, the rain falls inside the temple but thanks to 22 hidden holes, the water drains quickly.
It is so hard to believe that this wonder was built 2,000 years ago.
