04/04/22 - Charles Saatchi is an entrepreneur and collector who became well known for sponsoring Young British Artists (YBA) during the 1990s. In 2008 he opened an art gallery in Chelsea (London) that became a center of attraction because of the artists on display, however today it has lost some of its popularity. His daughter Phoebe Saatchi Yates, together with her husband Arthur Yates, founded a gallery in Mayfair, also in London, opening a new chapter in the family history.
On the lower floor, on Cork Street, Saatchi Yates is dedicated to the exhibition of emerging artists. And on the underground floor it features contemporary blue-chip art from leading private collections, which is a novel concept, as collectors shouldn't be turning to auction houses when interested in selling their works.

The colorful Sujin Lee (Korea, 1990) welcomes us on the main floor with representations of her innermost circle of friends. We wonder if her friends are satisfied with how Sujin Lee portrays them, since being all of them Asian, none have slanted dark eyes. But we assume that she did not want to make a true representation of them, but instead wanted to celebrate the friendship that unites them
