Nobody belongs to nobody (NINGUÉM E DE NINGUÉM)
4:19 p.m.
08/29/16 - Room 40 of the Museo de Bellas Artes welcomes us with a poster that contains a series of recommendations written by artist Rogério Reis to take photos of strangers. It's a 9-points list that helps discover the secrets to photographing people we don't know without giving explanations. Reis, known for portraying urban landscapes that are true city chronicles, puts the spotlight into the rights of personal image through a series of 20 photographs in which he has covered the faces with coloured spots. Those spots replace the black strip used by the press to protect the identity of children or crime suspects. Nowadays, those black strips are no longer used since digital retouching apps allow to create a distortion over the faces.

In "Nadie es nadie - Ninguém e de Ninguém", Reis is much more interested in showing a group of people unable to connect to the visitors, because, as their faces are covered, they can not look back at us. The coloured circles imprint the photos with a very unique aesthetic touch, much to the needs of this very visual exhibition.
