León Ferrari at the MAMBA...

3:25 p.m.

The Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires (MAMBA) is tributing Argentine artist León Ferrari (Buenos Aires, 1920-2013) as a way of thanking his family for the donation of 72 artworks which now belong to the permanent collection of the museum.
On display there are two installations Ferrari did in the first years of this century: two very beautiful and extremely sarcastic sculptures, intimately related with Catholicism.
Hell, by León Ferrari (1999-2000)
Materials: cage, plastic birds, feathers, cast figures and paint
MAMBA Collection.
Birdies, by León Ferrari (2001)
Materials: wire, plastic birds, feathers, print.
MAMBA Collection.
The birds, which occupy the top part of the space shared with religious images on paper or cast figures, drop their waste on them...
Still today, Ferrari's provocative artwork moves us and makes us consider certain dogmas and principles imposed thousands of years ago...

To visit... "La Donación León Ferrari" till August 9th at the Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires.
