Disappearing...

"Desapareciendo" is the title of a very interesting current exhibition at the MACBA, where visitors are asked to "participate" in the search for artist Liu Bolin. On display we see photos where Bolin, using different methods (body painting, composition, performances), camouflages himself in different cities. With this blending into the background, he pretends to criticise the systems that rule our lives.

Apart from rejecting consumerism, he becomes invisible to denounce environmental irresponsibilities, while also showing the cultural traditions of those countries he visits.

With the 2015 Performance Biennial coming up in Buenos Aires, Bolin will participate with an artwork that will take part in his series Target (2013- Present), where he pretends to gather more than 60 persons for a photo-performance that usually takes up to 10 hours of daily production.
