Detailed weaving...

02/21/22 - Ruth Asawa (1926-2013) is known for her hanging sculptures, a dynamic work that challenges all the conventions of the artistic practice. Transparent, light, organic and, above all, intricate, the pieces are displayed in this particular exhibition in such a way that we can walk all around them. The David Zwirner Gallery in New York defied its own space to give us the opportunity to move between the pieces and observe them in all their detail. The meticulousness, patience and harmony of each of them define the artist's skill, since the material she uses is copper, bronze or galvanized steel worked in such a detailed manner as if it were silk threads. The structures dance in the air, something incredibly unexpected in the realm of sculpture.
