Irreverent glass...

03/01/22 - Andra Ursuta produces a provocative work, sometimes perverse, absurd, strange, visceral but above all melancholic. Perhaps because he thought that the future would be bleak due to his place of birth: Romania in 1979. However, that past, full of anecdotes and with a typical central European color, allowed him to create sculptures, drawings and installations in various materials.

Today we present the sculptures exhibited at the David Zwirner gallery in Paris, a madness of amputated and intervened bodies done in a single material: glass. All colored in green, red and white, which takes away (just a little) the absurd drama that they carry. They are bodies transformed with attached bottles, animals or dressed in jackets. In other works, only the viscera or skeletons appear colored as if they were marbles. They all lost their functionality, they are the remains of a catastrophe.
