Pérez Celis at the MNBA...

08/10/15 - Last Tuesday, the MNBA opened the exhibition "Testimonio Americano", displaying approximately 80 works by Pérez Celis (Buenos Aires, 1939-2008),  many of then unknown to the general public, because they belong to private collectors.
Pérez Celis is an artist impossible to label because, although influenced by many artistic movements, he never took part of them, maybe as his own personal way of resisting the artistic rules. However, he was deeply influenced by the landscapes and cities he visited and this is what you'll see in this exhibition.
According to curator Cristina Rossi, this exhibition is not a retrospective, but a tribute to this tiresome traveller, who toured all our continent. The setting works perfectly: a white cube with direct lighting to enhance the works and sufficient space to appreciate the larger ones.
