05/31/24 - Virgil Abloh (USA, 1980-2021), Engineer, with a Master's Degree in Architecture and included in TIME Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world (2018), dedicated his short life to creation and artistic experimentation. The Design District of Miami (USA) has among its works of public art Dollar A Gallon, a sculpture that arises from an investigation in which the artist aims to demonstrate the effect of advertising on an unsuspecting consumer. It is a sign, like those you see at service stations in the United States, where the price of different types of fuel is indicated. In the sculpture this “sign” is shown fallen on the public road and in a brownish (rusty) color, questioning consumerism, the value of the product sold and the importance of the brand to recognize the products
