Richard Deacon: Objects that are sculptures...

5:20 p.m.

21/02/24 - Small stainless steel forms, located on pedestals, are displayed in an orderly group. Although they are part of a larger exhibition, the small sculptures draw all the admiration of the public.
They look heavy at first glance, perhaps due to the material they are made of, but in reality their lightness is exaggerated, since they are hollow. Curves and countercurves characterize these figure-objects that, in addition to being light, are malleable, like the footprints left by a shoe. That is why artist Richard Deacon titled the set, precisely, Tread.
