19/11/19 - Some days after September 11th, 2001, on a street in lower Manhattan, Isa Genzken (Germany, 1948) found a bookshelf in ruins. The object, according to the artist, carried the memories of what the Twin Towers had been, With this and other found materials, all of them destroyed, Genzken produced a series of assemblies entitled Ground Zero.
The one we see below, Bookshelves, is part of this series and it wants to operate in our imagination as the building in the brink of colapse.
