PAMM... (Part II)

16/05/19 - The artwork "Untitled (parade)" by Kevin Beasley (USA, 1985) is part of the permanent collection of the Perez Art Museum in Miami.
It was made with found materiales, such as fabrics and caftans, manipulated and molded as if they were baroque curtains. Then, with the use of resin, the shapes look mummified.
The sculptural composition transmits movement anD even the physical present of a phantasmagoric group of faceless women. This is a portrait of absent bodies and we are forced to give them faces. But maybe, for the artist, they are just young women wearing hoods, like a hip hop group. We feel vitality and affliction at the same time.
