Muzeum Susch II: The Opening Exhibition...
12:00 a.m.
25/03/19 - Respecting the original spaces and traces of time, Grazyna Kulczyk wanted her museum to be a site of contemplation, retired from the “market effect”. This expression is what identifies the museums that house private collections, where the most renown artists favored by the art market occupy a place of preference.
This first exhibition is the starting point that will guide the future actions of the museum. With the artworks belonging to the Kulczyk Collection, the exhibition places the spotlight on the female artists of our time.
The body is the prevailing image in the entire exhibition, both as an example of maternity and sexuality.

The exhibition "A Woman Looking At Men Looking At Women" makes women wonder the way we see ourselves and how we are seen by men. Among all these many female artist, there’s an artwork by Lucio Fontana, because the cut in the canvas is seen as a representation of female genitalia. In fact genitality is present in 70% of the artworks, as an uprising to the traditional observer with an erotic perspective, belonging to a male audience, characteristic of the patriarchy that has prevailed for centuries.
This museum is an entire new experience, because of the place itself and it’s program of upcoming exhibitions. It’s not easy to reach, as it might have been so to the Medieval pilgrims.
