BA Photo 2014: the highlights.

An exhibition worthy of a museum...
That of the guest artist Milagros de la Torre (Perú, 1965), curated by Rodrigo Alonso. De la Torre lives in New York but in her photos she still reflects her childhood in Perú. In some of them she works almost in an artisanal way, with the techniques used by photographers in the square of Cuzco. Of the artworks in exhibition, the series Punzocortante is specially moving: it is an inventory of knives confiscated by the police in the hands of common thieves. Criminology and photography are usually recurring subjects in this artist's work.
