Nature in Plexiglas...

12/12/22 - On the other side of the river Thames, on the South Bank of the city of London, you can find the Hayward Gallery, a space dedicated to contemporary art in an austere building from 1968.
On its esplanade, Jyll Bradley (UK, 1966) created an installation in colored Plexiglas that simulates something similar to futuristic plants, although in reality its geometry is a representation of the hop crops in Kent. To make the most of sunlight, a seed was specially designed that grows in a very specific way: upwards and downwards while creating connections.
The artist wants us to spend time under her work, enjoying the color changes caused by sunlight on the surface of the material as she hopes, we believe, that we never transform our natural crops into mere industrial forms.
