Tied to be fit: Jessica Stockholder.

03/29/31 - The English expression "fit to be tied" refers to someone who is extremely angry. The sculptor Jessica Stockholder (Seattle, 1959) takes over that phrase and decides to turn it around: tied to be fit. As a result we have a new meaning, which inspired the artist to give life to an installation made up of thick intertwined ribbons, in bright colors, that form a structure several meters long.

Stockholder managed to create a product that invades the space of the Max Estrella Gallery in Madrid, a monumental network of color that dialogues and intervenes with the architecture. Assist: Tied to be fit- Middle Period- makes us aware of the space to which it adheres, while its color invades the white cube with meandering movement despite being an immobile sculpture. We cannot resist following this object that goes on and on, see how far the path that the undulating sculpture takes us. But there is no order, it is only a game that captivates us for a few minutes.
