29/12/20 - The artist we are presenting today was born in the United States in 1944 and was globally recognized with retrospective exhibitions in France, London and Sweden. His artworks analyze the relationship between the artistic object and its context, specifically the value a piece has for the Museum that collects, preserves and evaluates it. McCollum has been working on this project for several decades.

We can all remember the curiosity we feel when entering a museum: What does a certain artwork have to be there? McCollum answers this question exhibiting an object in its singularity and then with a repetition of it, as example of the "collection". Then he defies us to answer: Why is this piece part of the collection of this museum? And he answers: "I try to demystify the artistic production".
