Juan (1965) began experimenting with ashes in 2006 and only uses those that come from the burning of incense in Buddhist temples. According to the artist, this spiritual material meets the ideas he has on artistic creation.

These monochromatic works vary only little between each other. It all depends on the tone of the ashes used.

Although these works can be categorised as abstract, they are not, because they carry a certain content expressed in Braille. Plus he tells stories of the Bible using ashes that come from Buddhist temples. According to Huan, both texts express the same in different ways, because, to him, all religions are equal.
