BA Photo 2015...

12:38 p.m.

19/10/15 - Buenos Aires Internacional Photography Fair, in its 11th edition, offered a chance for reflection: digital cameras, new techniques and the great variety of formats have changed the primitive and original identity of photography, to allow new methods of shooting an image. Today, a cell phone camera is more than enough.
Both extremes were showcased this past weekend: yesterday's photography, in the Wunderkammer, section, dedicated to the origins, and Today's photography, with such examples as the glass prints of  Carolina Magnin.
Classic approaches, however, still occupy a more important space, with higher price tags, such as Grete Stern's (some of her photos have already been seen at ArteBA), Aldo Sessa's and Annemarie Heinrich's.
The Galería Del Infinito once again offered Matilde Marín's series tributing Suprematism (we posted about this here).
Photographer Gaby Herbstein, known for her work in Fashion, presented several photos, one of them with a bit of Man Ray's magical surrealism.
Photography is crossing boundaries that, five years ago, seemed unimaginable. This is what was probably the most interesting aspect of BA Photo this past weekend.
