Walking through Art...
4:25 p.m.
Ciudad, by Pompeyo Audivert
Technique: xylography / Measures: 30 x 50 cm - MNBA
Quite often, when looking at a painting, we usually wonder the location of a particular landscape or which city can be seen from a window. In the previous painting by Audivert (Cataluña, 1900 - Bs. As., 1977) we are challenged to recognise which part of the city appears in the background, or who wrote the book on the table. It's like if we felt the need to walk through it, place ourselves in that particular room, in that exact moment.
Maybe with this in mind, animators Aaron Blaise and Chuck Williams, who have developed their careers at the Disney Studios, have decided to venture themselves in the creation of a movie where two characters travel through a number of masterpieces of world heritage.

"Art Story" tells the story of a boy and his grandpa, both of who are sucked into paintings such as Van Gogh's Starry Night or M.C. Escher's Relativity, while fighting the villain. The movie is actually in pre-production and it's seeking funding through KickStarter. There you'll be able to see some of the ideas both animators have and some of their artistic "interventions"
