Abstraction to the limit...

One of Modernism's contributions to Art History was abstraction: the moment when artists discovered the "non-figurative" as a form of expression. To achieve this, they relied strictly on visual elements, such as lines, points, color, planes, and textures. Furthermore, these works lacked a theme or subject matter.

Today, this abstract modernist canon is being revisited and reinterpreted by artists. Such is the case with Marcolina Dipierro, who adheres to the concept but introduces the variable of Nature. In her works, she uses only a few branches and a metal support, harmonizing the piece in such a way that the work appears complete and abstract. They are simple lines, but made of metal and wood.
