"Leonardo’s Vitruvian Man emboides a momento when art and science combined to allow mortal minds to probe timeless questions about who are and how we fit into the grand order of the universe."

Walter Isaacson, "Leonardo"

17/08/23 - Fallen Algae is the name of the exhibition currently taking place at the Museo de Arte Español Enrique Larreta as part of Bienalsur and it presents a video plus an installation. Both pieces try to connect us with the survival of the vegetable kingdom, since it seems it was able to successfully dodge the great massive extinctions of our planet.

Gardens of the Future, thus the name of group, dialogues with the Moorish garden of the museum.  French artist Kalie Granier, who lives between California and Paris, is permanently in contact with the bull algae  (Nereocystis luetkeana) which can be found in the ocean. Through the transmutation of organic matter into artistic practice, she proposes a sculptural installation with these elements.

The power of the algae surrounds us in the installation, activating our aesthetic senses. The art + nature combination may allow us to design a better world.
