Flora ars+natura... (Part II)

11:29 a.m.

11/19/18 - The many visitors that went to Flora, during the ArtBo week in Colombia, had the chance to see the artists themselves unveil their artworks. Among them, the Cuban photographer Linet Sánchez, who portrays architectonic spaces she builds herself in small mock-ups. There are no inhabitants, just empty spaces in black and white photos of closed windows, doors or rooms.

Fredy Clavijo Cuartas questions, through different mediums, the relationships between men and land. A leaf, a punched drum and other objects or found materials become part of his artworks. Everything gets its very particular intervention. The perforated-by-Nature dried leaf contrasts with the drum that was cut out manually. Both objects can no longer serve the purpose they were meant for.

Artist Erkan Oznur was born in Turkey (all the other artists on display were Latin American) and his work is conceptual, through enigmatic phrases written with black ink. On mirrors or simple white papers, Oznur's texts want us to mediate on concepts such as Nature, the moon, the light, etc.
