Jeff Koons' Ballerina...

2:46 p.m.

05/18/17 - A year ago, Jeff Koons' "Ballerina" (the full name is Seated Ballerina) was placed just outside the entrance to the MALBA. Originally inspired by a small porcelain figurine, a new version, rather extreme and inflatable, has now been placed at the Rockefeller Center in New York. Almost 14 mts high, the installation seeks to irradiate optimism and, as a modern Venus, symbolize the idea of Beauty. But as the light of the sun touches its surface, the Ballerina becomes a huge mirror that reflects those who are watching her. According to Koons, this effect generates such vital energy that it invites our contemplation.
