Barro Memorioso (something like "mud with memory"). That's the title of this  installation by Andrés Paredes (Misiones, 1979) which is the result of a deep exploratory work and the compilation of a huge amount of animal remains. However, the material that prevails is definitely mud which, layer after layer, forms a structure that houses the remains. Visitors are the invited to step into and observe this structure of lunar landscape from the inside.

According to the curator of the artwork, Roberto Echen, it takes us to other times without leaving the present: a journey in time with a one-of-a-kind time machine. We discover, thus, new worlds, something that happened in the past, but we don't know when nor where.

Paredes, an admirer of Henry Matisse' cutouts and of Román Vitali's work (Santa Fe, 1969), has a very organic imprint and in this installation it manifests itself vastly. So much so that it allows visitors to submerge into the scene, but also into Paredes' recollections of what an intense, spectral and lifeless landscape should be.
