Born in Buryatia, Russia, in the region of Transbaikal in 1967, this figurative sculptor returns to the rules of archaic tradition, creating creatures of strange beauty, which seem to bring to life mysteries of past times.
Tiger and bird, by Dashi Namdakov
Materials: lapis lazuli and bronze / Measures: 97 x 141 x 62 cm
Devoted to the History of Europe, his original pieces have the aesthetic of the West but with the  mysterious iconography of the Buddist religion of the Lamas. Even more, his work is a perfect combination between the traditions of the Turkish Siberian tribes, Japan and China's antique art and the stories and legends of his own land. With all this, Dashi developed artworks rich in details and with profound personality.

Dashi's artistic career reflects the culture of the East of Asia, specially that of Mongolia and Buryatia. To us, it's a chance to meet an artist from the other end of the world, a rare phenomenon, different to what we are used to see in Contemporary Art.
